DESIGN · INDUSTRIAL DESIGNS AND MODELS
An industrial design protects the appearance of a product: its shape, its lines, its look. If what sets you apart is how your product looks, this is the registration for you.
WHAT IT PROTECTS
An industrial design protects the aesthetic configuration of a product: the silhouette of a piece of furniture, the shape of a bottle, the pattern of a fabric, the casing of a device. It does not protect function (that is the territory of patents and utility models) but the appearance that makes your product recognizable. The world’s biggest intellectual property disputes are fought over this registration.
Prints, cuts, soles, appliqués: in fashion, copying is the rule. Registering your design gives you the legal tool to stop it.
The bottle, the jar, the box that make your product recognizable on the shelf are a registrable asset — and one of the most copied.
Chairs, lighting, accessories, devices: if the value of your product lies in its design, registration is what makes it yours.
OUR SERVICE
Analysis, drawings, and filing: design registration is quick when it is prepared properly.
We confirm that your design is new and that this is the right route (rather than a three-dimensional trademark or a utility model).
We prepare the graphic documentation according to the INPI’s requirements — the point where most applications fail.
We file with the INPI and monitor the application until registration.
When it makes sense, we add a three-dimensional trademark or a utility model to shield the product on every front.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
