HOW IT WORKS

The procedure,
step by step

Registering a trademark in Argentina takes between 8 and 18 months on average. We take care of the entire journey.

Where we answer your questions about the registration process.

Before filing, we check whether identical or confusingly similar trademarks are registered or pending with the INPI. This step reduces the risk of oppositions and saves you time and money. Learn how to find out whether a trademark is already registered.

We define the correct Nice classes for your product or service and file the application with the INPI with all documentation in order.

Your trademark is published in the Trademark Gazette and a 30-day period opens for third-party oppositions. If one is filed, we negotiate it or respond to it on your behalf.

Once substantive examination is passed, the INPI grants the registration for 10 years, renewable. We notify you of every deadline so your trademark never goes unprotected.

Once your trademark is registered, we safeguard it throughout its 10-year term: we watch the new applications published in the Trademark Gazette and alert you if any could be confused with yours, so you can oppose it in time. Your trademark stays protected on paper and in the marketplace.

A negotiation stage opens and, if no agreement is reached, the INPI decides. Our team specializes in responding to oppositions: it is one of our most requested services.
10 years from the date of grant, renewable indefinitely for equal periods. It is best to handle the trademark renewal before it expires. In addition, a sworn declaration of use must be filed halfway through the term.

It is the international classification that groups products and services into 45 classes. Your trademark is protected in the classes you register: choosing them well is key, and it is part of our advice. Read the complete guide to the Nice classes (in Spanish) →

Yes, the procedure is open to the public. But a poorly done search or a wrongly chosen class can cost you a refusal and force you to pay for everything again. A specialized firm maximizes your chances of registration.
